Our Story

We started asking one question:
What is really in our food?

In India's busy homes, food is cooked with love and trust. Trust that the turmeric is actually turmeric. That the dal hasn't been mixed with cheaper pulses. That the spices carry no synthetic dye. That the milk hasn't been diluted. That the vegetables haven't been sprayed beyond safe limits.

The truth, backed by data from FSSAI and Parliament, is alarming. In 2024–25, nearly 1 in 5 food samples tested across India failed safety standards. In states like Uttar Pradesh, over 52% of food samples failed FSSAI safety tests. Paneer samples in Noida showed 83% failure rates — with 40% containing harmful unidentified chemicals.

This project was founded in 2024 with a single mandate: provide every Indian family access to food that is genuinely clean, chemical-free, and pesticide-free — delivered same day, directly to their door.

India's Food Safety Crisis — Real Data

The food on most Indian tables
is not what it appears to be.

These are not rumours. These are numbers from FSSAI reports, Parliamentary data, and peer-reviewed studies. This is why Quicktrolly exists.

1 in 5
Food samples across India failed safety standards in 2024–25
FSSAI's own admission: approximately 20% of food samples tested nationally — including popular chocolate brands — failed to meet required safety standards. Over 1.74 lakh food samples found unsafe over the last five years.

52.8%
Food samples in Uttar Pradesh failed FSSAI safety tests in 2024
Uttar Pradesh led all states with over half of all food samples tested failing safety standards. Rajasthan recorded 28.4%, Maharashtra 18.7%, and Tamil Nadu 14% — all dangerously high figures.

7,705
Food adulteration complaints filed with FSSAI in 2024–25 alone
Complaints nearly doubled from 4,330 in 2022–23 to 7,705 in 2024–25 — a 78% rise in just two years. Filed through FSSAI's Food Safety Connect portal under FoSCoS system.

83%
Paneer samples in Noida & Greater Noida failed quality tests
A staggering 83% of paneer samples tested in Noida and Greater Noida failed quality standards. 40% were deemed unsafe due to harmful chemicals and completely unidentified substances.

12%
Spice samples nationwide contain pesticide residues or contaminants
Approximately 12% of spice samples tested nationwide failed safety standards. Common adulterants include artificial colours like Sudan Red (chilli), Metanil Yellow (turmeric), lead chromate, and sawdust in masalas.

80%
Of India's food is sold through informal markets with zero oversight
India's food supply chain is fragmented, with 80% of sales through informal markets that lack regulatory oversight. About one-third of the food industry is unaware of FSSAI regulations.

Common Adulterants Found in Indian Kitchen Staples
Turmeric (Haldi)
Lead chromate, Metanil Yellow (synthetic dye), chalk powder, starch. Metanil Yellow is linked to neurological damage and is non-permitted in food under FSSAI regulations.
Red Chilli Powder
Sudan Red IV (a synthetic azo dye, possibly carcinogenic), brick powder, artificial colour, saw dust. FSSAI has zero tolerance for Sudan Red in food.
Milk & Dairy Products
Water, glucose, salt, detergents, urea, starch, and synthetic milk made from chemicals. Adulteration has been documented in Indian cities since the 1990s and continues unabated.
Coriander & Cumin (Dhaniya / Jeera)
Dried horse dung, grass seeds, mud, horse gram, paddy husk mixed in. Undetectable to the naked eye — identified only under lab testing.
Edible Oils & Ghee
Palm oil, soyabean oil, mineral oil mixed in. The Tirupati Laddu controversy exposed ghee adulterated with cheaper vegetable oils and animal fats including beef tallow and pork lard.
Fresh Vegetables & Fruits
Calcium carbide used to artificially ripen mangoes and bananas (causes acetylene exposure). Synthetic colours injected into watermelons. Malachite green used on green vegetables and grapes.
Black Pepper
Papaya seeds, dried stems, light berries, and mineral oil coating to give artificial sheen. FSSAI tests have found up to 30% adulteration in loose pepper samples.
Dal & Pulses
Cheaper lentil varieties mixed into premium dal. Kesari dal (Lathyrus sativus) — which causes paralysis — has historically been mixed into toor dal. Artificial colour added to improve appearance.

"We started Quicktrolly because we were tired of wondering what was actually in our food. We wanted to build something we could trust ourselves — and give that same trust to every Indian family."

India's food adulteration problem is not new. It has been documented for decades. What is new is the scale — and the silence around it. When 1 in 5 food samples tested by India's own food safety regulator fail basic standards, it stops being a food industry problem and starts being a public health emergency.

At Quicktrolly, we believe the solution is not more regulation — it is more accountability at the point of sourcing. Every product we list must be backed by real compliance documentation, real batch testing, and real consequences for suppliers who cut corners.

We are not just a grocery delivery platform. We are a quality filter between the broken food supply chain and your family's kitchen. That is a responsibility we take seriously — every single day.
